Safeguard patch precondition checks verify that certain conditions are met so that patching will be successful. This is to ensure there are no issues with the upgrade. If a pre-condition fails you will need to correct the errors then retry.
Sometimes the pre-condition is a warning message that merely needs to be acknowledged by accepting it.
When patching up from Safeguard 6.0.0 LTS to a feature release of Safeguard (such as 6.6.0), a warning is presented to the user indicating that the patch will transition from an LTS release to a Feature release. This warning should prompt for input similar to other appliance operations (reboot for example).
If Safeguard fails a precondition check, after clicking ‘install’ and passing the precondition check the above-described warning will display without a user input field.
The workaround is to remove and re-upload the patch then click “install.” This will cause the warning to appear with the necessary input field allowing the upgrade to continue.
