Cause
The forest root of the Domain must be enabled for Identity and Authentication when using Directory Groups. -
Resolution
From Settings | Identity and Authentication | Select the Active Directory Domain | Under "Available Domains for Identity and Authentication" ensure the AD forest root is ticked. -
