Sometimes when the downloaded RDP file from SPP WebUI is ran, an error message pops up "Authentication failed". Sometimes it works after downloading the RDP file again, sometimes it comes up several times in a row, e.g. working 1 time out of 10.
Issue is present on SPP cluster environments joined with SPS (LTS and Feature Branch as well). Issue is most likely not present when using the thick (desktop) client.
During the join there is a potential issue where the certificate used to authenticate for SPS/SPP communication is not trusted by SPS.
SPP (rdp) session via SPS (sessionmanagement) is failing 9/10 tests
SPS initiated sessions fail a majority of the time.
In the successful attempt, SPS authenticates to the primary SPP via GET Plugin/Authentication, whereas the failed attempts all send authentication requests to one of the replicas.
Waiting for a fix.
WORKAROUND
Use the 'Managed Networks' feature of SPP under 'Settings | Cluster | Managed Networks' to direct all sessions through the Primary (to configure that the SPS should always use the master node).
Or unjoin – rejoin all the replicas.
Or use Thick (desktop) client.
