How to use the Alternate Login Name option to modify the UPN username format in connection strings? -
Description
Is it possible to change the username format in the connection string when using an AD account and the target asset only accepts the simple username for session authentication?
Currently the username is formatted in the connection string like username@domainHowever, this would be needed to changed to only include simple username without the "@domain".

Resolution
For SPP versions 6.10 and older:
The Alternate Login Name required UPN format in these older SPP versions.
For SPP versions 6.11 or higher:
This issue is now fixed where you can modify the Alternate Login Name attribute value to something other than a UPN and SPP will generate a connection string with the simple username instead of UPN.
You can modify the Alternate Login Name value from the Directory Asset under the Attributes tab to specify the AD\LDAP attribute that would contain the simple username depending on the directory type for example, you can set Alternate Login Name value to: cn
*Note: You would also need to set Use Alternate Login Name check box in the Entitlement > Access Request Policy in order for new access requests to include the Alternate Login Name in the connection string. -
