Is there a way to upgrade the VMWare tools for SPP VMware Virtual Appliances? -
Resolution
For SPP 7.xChange request # 310055 updates the VMWare tools for new OVA deployments of SPP 7.0 VMs.
VMWare tools will only be updated for new OVA deployments, the version of VMWare tools will not be upgraded when upgrading from SPP 6.x versions of Safeguard.
To upgrade to the new version of the VMware tools, after upgrading from 6.x to 7.0, you will need to deploy & enroll new 7.0 nodes, then remove the older upgraded node, repeating for all nodes in the cluster and transferring the primary to one of the new nodes.For SPP 8.x or higherVMWare tools will no longer be included and will be removed from SPP VMs running 8.0 or higher. Taking VM snapshots in VMware is not supported, instead, using SPP Backups for Restores is the supported method for recovery. -
