After upgrading SPP and SPS to 8.0 LTS or higher, Users are unable to connect to target servers using the Start RDP Session button which is utilizing SCALUS but only while the "Use Hostname For Launch" setting is enabled in SPP Web UI under -> Appliance Management -> Cluster -> Session Appliances
If Use Hostname for Launch is not enabled then SPS IP address is used instead of the FQDN hostname and in this case SCALUS allows the RDP session to connect successfully.
STATUS:
Change Request # 494361 will address this issue in a future release of SPS subject to successful QA and product management approval.
Change Request # 492606 will address this issue in a future release of SPP subject to successful QA and product management approval.
WORKAROUND:
Use the "Download RDP" option to establish a connection to the target RDP asset
or
Deselect the ‘Use Hostname For Launch’ option to use SPS IP address instead of Hostname.
