On Basic Settings -> Date and time there is a warning message stating:
"Time is currently not in sync with the NTP servers (syncing might be in progress)"
regardless of manual sync attempts via Sync now
In the logs the following lines appear:
user.notice systemd-timesyncd[521]: Timed out waiting for reply from 91.189.91.157:123 (ntp.ubuntu.com).
On One Identity Safeguard for Privileged Sessions release 5.8.0 there is a misconfiguration in the underlying OS which causes an unwanted time sync mechanism to start. This was corrected in the next feature release 5.9.0.
On 5.8.0 the problem can be worked around the following way:
