When configuring SAML SSO between OneLogin and "HubSpot", administrators may encounter a verification error in HubSpot stating that the XML file does not appear to have any style information. This issue occurs during the SAML metadata verification step in HubSpot and prevents SSO from being validated.
Symptoms
HubSpot fails SAML verification
Error displayed in HubSpot:
“This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.”
Occurs during the Verify step when uploading or referencing OneLogin metadata
HubSpot incorrectly reads the SOAP binding URL from the OneLogin metadata instead of the required HTTP‑POST ACS (Assertion Consumer Service) URL. As a result, HubSpot attempts to validate against the wrong endpoint and fails SAML verification.
Once the ACS URL was corrected to use HTTP‑POST, SAML SSO verification succeeded, and the authentication functioned as expected.
