The Password Manager Customization tool offers you additional options for customizing Password Manager sites.
By using this tool, you can:
• Customize error messages for the Self-Service, Helpdesk and Administration sites
• Customize Password Policy rules texts and related errors
To use the customization tool the following requirements must be met:
You can use the Customization Tool in a standalone mode (i.e. run the tool on a computer on which Password Manager is not installed). When you use the tool in a standalone mode, you need to load data from and save it to a specified file.
When you use the Customization Tool in a connected mode, you can load data from and upload it directly to Password Manager's configuration as well as load data from a file and save it to the file.
If you want to make the modifications on a server other than the Password Manager server, you still need to install the Customization Tool on the Password Manager server for two reasons:
The Customization Tool is distributed as a ZIP archive, available for both x86 and x64. To launch the tool, extract all files supplied in the archive to a single folder and run the QPM.CustomizationTool.exe file.
NOTE: Before modifying any configuration data with the customization tool, it is strongly recommended to export Password Manager's configuration to a file using the Import/Export Settings option on the Administration site to create a backup of the configuration.
To start using the tool, load data to the tool. To load data directly from Password Manager's configuration, click Load data from product configuration on the main page. To load data from a file previously saved with this tool, click Load data from file on the main page, select the required file and click Open.
Customization Options Overview
On the main page of the customization tool, the following customization options are available:
Customize Error Messages
This option allows you to customize error messages that appear on the Self-Service, Helpdesk and Administration sites. You can customize error messages not only in English but also in the following languages:
NOTE: If an error message contains parameters, do not modify them. If existing parameters are replaced with custom ones, parameter values will not be displayed in the error message. If the message consists of several part separated by vertical bars, make sure the customized message has the same number of parts. It is recommended not to change the order of parts. Do not use vertical bar characters in customized messages, except for cases when vertical bars are used in the original message.
