Secure Password Extension is not getting installed when trying to deploy using GPO
Description
When using a GPO to deploy the Secure Password Extension (SPE), the SPE does not get installed on the end user computers.
Resolution
Troubleshooting:
Confirm you have configured the Software Installation settings under the Computer Configuration node of the GPO
Confirm the GPO is linked to a container that contains the computer objects you wish to install the SPE on
Confirm the Security Filter for the GPO is correct
Confirm the GPO is Enabled
Run gpresult /v on the computer where the SPE should be installed.
Under COMPUTER SETTINGS | Applied Group Policy Objects you should see the name of your GPO listed. If you do not there is an issue with the GPO being applied to the computer. Consult Microsoft documentation or Support for help on troubleshooting GPOs
