Server Error in ‘/PMUser’ Application (4271286)

The following error is reported when an incorrect filepath is entered into the PMUser and / or PMHelpdesk URL.

“Server Error in ‘/PMUser’ Application”

This error message is returned when ambiguous URL Encoding (Percent Encoding) characters are entered as part of the URL.

This error can be forced by entering the following URL

http:///PMUser/%25c

To prevent this error from appearing a redirect can be entered into the web.config file as follows.

On the Password Manager server

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\One Identity\Password Manager\Web\User
2. Make a backup of the ‘Web.config’ file
3. Open the ‘Web.config’ file in a text editor.
4. Search for “</system.web>”
5. Go back up one line.
6. Enter the following

<customErrors mode=RemoteOnly” defaultRedirect=”URL of your PMUser Site”/>

7. Save the file
8. Restart the Password Manager service.
9. Test that the redirect works on but not on the Password Manager server. This redirect applies to remote computers only, not the Password Manager server.
