"HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized" error after updating the service account credentials (4276004)

After following the product's documentation and/or the KB 122903 to change the Password Manager’s service account password, you ae unable to launch the PMAdmin site due to the following error:

“HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized

You are not authorized to view this page due to invalid authentication headers.”

The PMAdmin site's authentication (Anonymous Authentication) is still referencing the old service account’s password.

SOLUTION

1) Launch IIS;

2) Navigate to the PMadmin site and click ‘Authentication’;

3) Right-click on ‘Anonymous Authentication’ and select ‘Edit’;

4) Either reset the PM’s service account credentials or select ‘Application pool idnetity’;

5) Restart IIS.
