Resolution
To hide My Notificaitons from users on the self-service site see the below steps:
- Open the Admin site
- If there is more than one Management Policy select the appropriate one and expand Self-Service Workflows
- Click My Notifications
- Select Workflow settings
- Select Availability tab
- Select Never show the workflow on the self-service site
