Error message in Management Console for Unix is:

Configuring Automatic profiling for host failed
Unable to set password for user questusr. validate that password policy restrictions have been met for the user

For example on a Solaris server if the /etc/default/passwd file has this entry:
PASSLENGTH=12
Then the auto profile configuration on this server will fail while trying to create the questusr user.

Management Console for Unix tries to set a password on the questusr user with 10 characters. -
Resolution
STATUS:
Issue fixed in Management Console for Unix version 2.5.3.

Additional Information
The default questusr password can now be set to different lengths.
An ability to choose from a configurable set of characters is added in this version.
For example, to configure the default password length to 12 (minimum 9), in the custom.cfg file, specify:
-DQuestUsrPwdLength=12
The steps are:

- Stop the MCU service:
One Identity Management Console for Unix
- Edit the custom.cfg file:
C:\ProgramData\Quest Software\Management Console for Unix\resources\custom.cfg
Add this entry:
-DQuestUsrPwdLength=12
- Restart the MCU service.
