Hanging for a long time on pmrun commands run by certain users -
Description
Certain users are seeing pmrun commands hang for a long time (~1 hour) before completing. -
Cause
The issue seems to affect users who have had the max file descriptor limit raised to a very high number. There was a defect in earlier versions of Privilege Manager when the file descriptor limit was set too high. -
Resolution
RESOLUTION
This issue has been fixed as of Privilege Manager 6.0.0(050). Upgrading to a version later than that will resolve the issue.
If unable to upgrade, the issue can also be resolved by lowering the file descriptor limit. The file descriptor limit can be set on a system wide level by modifying the rlim_fd_cur parameter the /etc/system file or a /etc/system.d file. It can also be set on a project level by setting the process.max-file-descriptor resource control via the projmod command. It can also be set per process using limit/ulimit/plimit commands.
