On UPM Master and Agent systems pmmasterd and pmlocald are started from Inetd. The following are the default entries in the inetd.conf file
pmmasterd stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/pmmasterd pmmasterd -arpmlocald stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/pmlocald pmlocaldpmmasterd and pmlocald may optionally be defined in the /etc/services file. The following are the default entries in the services file:
pmmasterd 12345/tcppmlocald 12346/tcp
