One Identity Defender All Versions - Critical Product Notification

One Identity Defender leverages an underlying service provided by Telesign for SMS and phone call based authentication to the Self-Service Portal. Telesign has announced that they are deprecating their support for their SOAP API switching support entirely to their REST API.

How does this affect Defender? 

This affects users of the Self-Service portion of the Defender Management Portal when SMS or phone call based authentication is enabled. This functionality will cease to function as of 12/01/2016.

Attempts to authenticate using the Telesign API after this time will fail to authenticate, and a HTTP 404 error will be displayed within the Defender Self-Service Portal.

Resolution

To update the API method that Defender communicates with Telesign, please ensure you are running Defender 5.8.2 then install the associated Defender hotfix for the installed version as described in the following KB article:

After installing the hotfix, follow the steps outlined within the KB article or release notes to change the Telesign configuration settings within the Defender Management Portal and begin utilizing the new REST API.
