Two Factor Authentication via Starling Hybrid Subscription

Thank you for your continued support of One Identity solutions.

As previously announced, One Identity will no longer offer Two-Factor Authentication via the Starling Hybrid Subscription after November 1, 2022. Safeguard Authentication Services 5.1 will remove functionality related to Starling Two-Factor Authentication and One Identity Hybrid Subscription.

How does this affect me?

If you are using Safeguard Authentication Services in conjunction with Starling Hybrid Two-Factor Authentication for logins, this will cease to function as of November 1st, 2022.

Resolution:

  • Customers should Disable Starling Hybrid Two-Factor Authentication before the November 1, 2022 end date.  This can be done through Group Policy. For more information, please see the following article from the Safeguard Authentication Services knowledgebase: How to Disable Starling Two-Factor Authentication.
  • One Identity Defender can be utilized to provide Two-Factor Authentication with Safeguard Authentication Services. For more information on Defender, please see the One Identity Defender Product Page.
  • Customers are encouraged to use the native OS support for Radius or the native PAM module from a Two-Factor Authentication 3rd party provider.
  • The One Identity Product Team are working to implement additional options in upcoming versions.

We are committed to providing you with world class support while handling your ongoing product and services needs.
