Active Roles 7.4.x, 7.5.x, 7.6.x

Microsoft has deprecated support for Microsoft Teams Module version 2.3.1, which can be used in Active Roles for custom Workflows. Version 2.3.1 has been a requirement as later versions of the Teams module did not previously allow Application-based authentication. Microsoft has now released version 4.7.1 which again allows Application-based authentication.

How does this affect me?

Customers on Active Roles versions 7.4.x, 7.5.x and 7.6.x who have Active Roles Workflows configured to use the Teams module will lose this functionality unless they upgrade to Microsoft Teams Module 4.7.1.

To determine if you are using the Microsoft Teams Module in an Active Roles Workflow:

Check your custom Active Roles Workflows for any reference that includes “MicrosoftTeams” in the array of modules as outlined in the example here

Resolution

One Identity recommends that any customers using the Microsoft Teams module upgrade to version 4.7.1 immediately to prevent any loss of functionality. Please note that customers using Active Roles 7.5.3 specifically must upgrade the Teams module post-installation as there is a pre-requisite check for Teams 2.3.1. Note that there is no pre-requisite check in other Active Roles versions and customers may install Teams 4.7.1 at any point.
