Symlabs LDAP Proxy Product Notification

Dear Symlabs customer,

As you are aware, Symlabs^® is now part of Quest Software’s identity and access management group, and the existing LDAP proxy and virtual directory solutions are going through Quest integration and rebranding efforts. We are very excited to announce that Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server, formerly known as Symlabs Virtual Directory Server, will be available in February, 2012.

Quest^® One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server is a rebranded release of the Symlabs Virtual Directory Server. This release is equivalent to a patch release. It contains no new features but does fix important issues that have been integrated in previously released patches and hot-fixes. The future releases of Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server will be aligned with other Quest One Identity Solutions to provide a holistic approach to solve complexities around identity and access management (IAM).

Our customers are critical in making Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server the de facto standard for virtualization for IAM. We need your feedback to enhance and expand our IAM solutions.

As part of this change we are also transitioning the support of Symlabs LDAP Proxy & Virtual Directory Server, now renamed Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server, to the Quest Software global support organization servicing customers worldwide. We expect this transition to be complete during February 2012.

All customers under a current support agreement will be provided information about how to use Quest Software’s Support Services, including details on logging into our support portal where you can search our knowledge base, open and manage support cases online, download patches and access the latest product releases and documentation.

We will also be contacting customers that are current on maintenance to swap Symlabs LDAP Proxy and Symlabs Virtual Directory Server for Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server. An email with a description of the swap program and instructions on what to do to complete a swap request will be sent in February.
