After selecting the checkbox next to a user in the Active Roles Web Interface, the right sidebar menu is slow to load and displays a spinning circle. After a delay, the menu loads as expected.
Active Roles Verbose Logging shows the following error:
[SkypeforBusiness][SkypeforBusinessConnection::_TryEstablishConnection] 'Connecting to remote server xxxx.xxxxx.xxx failed with the following error message : The client cannot connect to the destination specified in the request. Verify that the service on the destination is running and is accepting requests.
This issue can also occur when attempting to perform various activities in Active Roles, including loading user properties, searching for objects, and other related tasks. The following error may be present in Verbose Logging:
[SkypeforBusiness][SkypeforBusinessConnection::_TryEstablishConnection] 'Connecting to remote server xxxx.xxxxx.xxx failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot complete the operation. Verify that the specified computer name is valid, that the computer is accessible over the network, and that a firewall exception for the WinRM service is enabled and allows access from this computer. By default, the WinRM firewall exception for public profiles limits access to remote computers within the same local subnet.
If Skype for Business is currently utilized in the environment, verify and repair connectivity between the Active Roles host and the Skype for Business servers noted in the verbose error logs.
If Skype for Business is no longer in use, unlink the following Skype policies using the Active Roles Console:
