Error when saving configuration of ARS Add-on for Lync Server 2.1 with QCSE 5.4 and QCEAD 5.5 (4286755)

While running QuickConnect Sync Engine 5.4 with Quick Connect Express for Active Directory 5.5, you get the error message below when attempting to save the configuration of the ActiveRoles Server Add-on for Lync Server 2.1:

Unable to Apply configuration settings. Details:: The 'Script Execution' policy encountered an error when running the script 'Lync Server - Add-on Application Management'.

At Line: 788 char:5. Exception calling "SaveConfiguration" with "0" argument(s): "invalid mapping condition Parameter name: item.system1Rule

ActiveRoles Server Add-on for Lync Server 2.1 is currently only compatible with Quick Connect Sync Engine 5.2 or 5.3 and Quick Connect Express for Active Directory 5.3.0 or 5.4.1, see enclosed Release Notes.

WORKAROUND

1) Install the ActiveRoles Server Add-on for Lync Server 2.1;

2) Download the Quick Connect Sync Engine 5.3 - Merge Module 5.2 from:

https://support.quest.com/kb/SOL118152

3) On the ARS machine:

    a) Stop the ARS service;

    b) Install ONLY the ‘QuickConnectSyncEngineMergeModule-5.2.0-SOL118152.msi’;

    c) Restart the ARS service

4) Try configuring the Lync Add-on again.
