Defender Desktop Token is installed and activated on a system. The same user attempts to make a Remote Desktop Connection to the system and attempts to use the token when signing in via Remote Desktop (RDP). When making the RDP Connection, the Desktop Token Software activation wizard is invoked.
Can the token be setup to allow use via RDP Session?
This is expected behaviour. The reason for this is that by default the token data is installed in the logged on user's "Application Data" folder. The user connecting over RDP does not have access to this folder and therefore the Desktop Token software is unable to locate the token data.
Move the Token Data Files to a location that will be accessible during logon.
1. Open the Defender Desktop Tokens Console
2. Go To 'Edit Folders' (File Menu | Edit Folders)
3. Highlight the installed Token, select Remove, then OK
Re-add the token, however during Token setup ensure that for the Token Data location an alternate folder is setup, rather than using the "Application Data" location option.
