After the installation of Password Policy Manager you may notice a blank domain-level Group Policy called QuestGPC. What is this?
These Group Policy Objects (GPOs) are created by Password Manager and contain Policy Manager data linked to Policy scopes (domain or OU).
You may see more than one of these if you have more than one Password Policy configured in Password Manager.
IMPORTANT:
The GPO(s) created by Password Manager are encrypted so they may appear blank. This is expected behavior.
This encryption leverages the same encryption key and type specified in the Password Manager Admin Site under General Settings | Reinitialization
These GPO(s) are encrypted to prevent incorrect modification by any other utility or application, for security and data consistency reasons. As such, they cannot be backed up by any Backup products.
It is advised not to edit the GPO(s), change rights or ownership, or delete them as it may break the Password Policy function of Password Manager.
