How to perform a Force Unjoin of your Starling Subscription

In the event that your Starling Subscription in Safeguard becomes 'out of sync' with the Starling Cloud Servers, one side may believe that the Join is valid, whereas the other side believes the Join no longer exists or is no longer valid. The steps below should only be used as a last resort if clicking the "Unjoin" button in the Desktop Client, or using the standard API Delete command does not complete the unjoin successfully.

Error: "There was an error while attempting to unjoin Starling. (60623)" when attempting to perform an unjoin.

Swagger

1. First login to the Swagger API web interface of your Safeguard appliance. The URL should be:

https://applianceaddress/service/core/swagger/ui/index

or

https://applianceaddress/service/core/swagger/index.html

2. Click the Authorize button at the top of the screen and login with your Administrator credentials.

3. Go to the ‘Starling’ section. /v4​/Starling​/Subscription

4. Click the GET option to expand that section and then click the Try it out button.

5. Copy the Subscription ID of the Starling Subscription you need to force delete.

6. Next, expand the DELETE section.

7. Paste the Subscription ID into the id parameter field.

8. Set the forceDelete drop down to True.

9. Click the Try it out button and this should delete the unwanted subscription.

PowerShell

1. Install the Safeguard PowerShell module

2. From PowerShell run 
connect-Safeguard -Appliance xx.xx.xx.xx -gui -Insecure

3. From PowerShell run
Remove-SafeguardStarlingSubscription -Name Default -Verbose
