Chrome browser's cookie handling, specifically with SameSite attribute is being changed. A new setting is being introduced into Chrome version 76 (August 2019). This will control how the browser interprets cookies without the SameSite attribute. This setting defaults to None, which would ensure no impact to existing cookie treatment.
Chrome 80, estimated for release in February 4, 2020, will default to Lax, which will prevent the browser from sending cookies without the SameSite attribute in many cross-site request scenarios.
