HOW TO: Update the password for the Quick Connect or Active Roles Synchronization Service Service Account -
Description
Due to a password policy or security requirement, it may be necessary to change the password for the Quick Connect or Active Roles Synchronization Service service account. -
Resolution
By default, the service account password is not stored in the Quick Connect or Active Roles Synchronization Service Console. Instead, it is only stored on the Windows Service.
The password can be updated in the Services.msc snapin by right-clicking on the service, choosing Properties, and updating the Log On tab. A service restart will be required after the password update.
NOTE: The service account credential may be hard-coded in other locations, such as on a Connection. If so, it will need to be updated in the Console as well.
