After installing or upgrading Authentication Services to version 4.2.0.24754 on Solaris 11 Sparc the following is seen:
vastool status:
WARNING: 242 No USN entries for groups
FAILURE: 721 Group entry with unknown SID, please examine access control files
vastool flush:
ERROR: Failed to send/recv Group Flush IPC request, payload_err=22
ERROR: Failed to send Groups Flush IPC, error=22
Syslog shows:
vasd[7052]: [ID 762149 daemon.error] GetMatchingRequest: Received 22 getting the request
Error 22 usually means that vasd is segfaulting.
Workaround:
The workaround is to create the following symlink:
ln -s /opt/quest/lib/support/libgcc_s.so.1 /opt/quest/lib/
And restart the vasd daemon:
/etc/init.d/vasd restart
For your upgrades the symlink can be done prior to upgrading and the upgrade process restarts the vasd daemon.
Fix:
Defect ID #801736 has been entered and this issue is fixed in 4.1.8.23880 of Authentication Services.
There is no ETA at the time of this writing, May 29, 2019, on when the fix will be in version 4.2.
