Please run the following commands, in order, to change the UID back to the User Name replacing USER_NAME_HERE with the correct user name and UID_HERE with the proper UID of the user name in question.
Step 1:
#/opt/quest/bin/vastool user checkacess USER_NAME_HERE
The above command checks to ensure the user in question has access which is important before making the continuing changes. If the user does not have access please ensure the user is Unix Enabled within Active Directory. Please contact One Identity support should access still be restricted before moving forward.
Step 2:
#/opt/quest/bin/vastool list user USER_NAME_HERE
The above command lists the user in question to ensure they are listed on the host which is making this change. If the user is not a listed host on this machine contact One Identity support.
Step 3:
#/opt/quest/bin/vastool nss getpwnam USER_NAME_HERE
The above command lists the user in question to ensure they are listed on the host which is making this change. If the user is not a listed host on this machine contact One Identity support.
Step 4:
#/opt/quest/bin/vastool user checkconflict USER_NAME_HERE
The above command checks to see if there is a UID conflict present. If there is a conflict please see the following guide: UID Conflict
Step 5:
#/opt/quest/bin/vastool isvas user USER_NAME_HERE getent passwd USER_NAME_HERE id USER_NAME_HERE id UID_HERE
The above command sets the UID to the user name and restores the files back to the user name rather than the UID.
Step 6:
#ls -la /path/to/usr/USER_NAME_HERE
The above command checks to ensure the files/directories in question are restored back to user name structure rather than UID.
If the files/directories in question still do not change after following the above steps please contact One Identity support for further assistance.
