Solaris: vasd will not start after reboot -
Description
On Solaris systems vasd does not start after a reboot. -
Cause
This can occur on Solaris systems where / mounts before /opt
Run the mount command and check the drives and mount times.
For example:
#mount
/ on /dev/md/dsk/d1...... Thu Oct 13 08:27:04 2016
/opt on /dev/md/dsk/d2 .....Thu Oct 13 08:27:20 2016
Essentially the OS takes off once / is mounted, which includes /etc/init.d, yet vasd just isn't there yet. -
Resolution
Fixed in Authentication Services 4.1.0.22547 and above.
The fix makes sure the binary exists and waits up to 1 minute in case it needs to mount.

On Solaris, wait for the vasd binary to exist before continuing, this
should help on systems where / mounts before /opt. -
