When we try to do Live Update on Solaris 10 using ZFS file system you get and lucreate error.
The /var directory under the root file system needs to be empty. When you see the lucreate error, you find /var/opt/quest directory.
If your ZFS partition is being mounted after vasd starts then what you are seeing it to be expected. When VAS starts up it writes out to its cache files which are needed to operate correctly. It will write out to whatever /var is available at the time of startup. Your ZFS partition is likely failing to mount because /var is "busy".
Not a QAS issue. QAS is operating as expected. Contact Vendor to determine the best approach to having your ZFS filesystem mounted before vasd starts.
