RESOLUTON 1:
1 - Run the following command replacing the <servicename> with the service name in the error.
/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure pam <servicename>
For example: /opt/quest/bin/vastool configure pam gdm
RESOLUTION 2:

/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure pam
RESOLUTON 3:
This error has also been seen when an invalid /etc/pam.d/system-auth exists and therefore QAS can not configure it.
1 - Replace the system-auth file or create a valid symlink to system-auth-ac file.
The system-auth file is an operating system file. Please consult the operating system vendor for information about the file.
RESOLUTION 4:
Not all versions of the vastool command handle long PAM entries split over multiple lines correctly, such as:
If none of these resolutions correct the issue, please open a support service request by visiting our Support Portal (http://support.quest.com) and include data from the vas_snapshot.sh script.
To collect the data run the following script: /opt/quest/libexec/vas/scripts/vas_snapshot.sh
It will create vas_snapshot.(machine-name).tar.gz file in your /tmp directory. Please attach the file to the service request.
