The latest publicly available vas_snapshot.sh script is included with the latest download of Authentication Services from support.quest.com.
After installing the client, the script can be found at /opt/quest/libexec/vas/scripts/vas_snapshot.sh
When executed, the snapshot collects various information about the system and the state and configuration of Authentication Services. It must be executed with root-level privileges.
The script will create a file in /tmp in the following format.
vas_snapshot.hostname.date.tar.gz
It is typically small enough to attach directly to the Service Request.
If you are troubleshooting domain join issues, a capture of the join process is also essential.
If needed, please capture the join process with the following command:
# Join debug example; please send in the resulting join.out file.
# if there are additional parameters in your vastool join, please add them before 2>&1 | tee /tmp/join.out
# /opt/quest/bin/vastool -u <admin> join -f <domain> 2>&1 | tee /tmp/join.out
