Description
When trying to join an Authentication Services client to the domain you receive the following error messageERROR: Unable to allocate vas_id_t for host/VAS_ERR_CONFIG: Configuration errordefault_realm not configured in vas.conf. Computer may not be joined to domain.A vastool status output after the join attempt may also show:CRITICAL: 108 /etc/opt/quest/vas/host.keytab is invalid -
Cause
Authentication Services is looking in the wrong place for the vas.conf information. -
Resolution
RESOLUTION:
Check if you have the following variable set in your environment:
KRB5_CONFIGE.g
env | grep -i KRB5_CONFIG
If this contains a value, then this will be used instead of the default vas.conf file location.
Remove the variable after checking that it is not required and try the join again.
