After upgrading to Authentication Services 4.1.7.23754 or higher the following warnings / failures are reported in vastool status
WARNING: 241 No USN entries for users
WARNING: 242 No USN entries for groups
CAUSE 1: These errors usually indicate that something failed during a vastool flush. This could be due to no QAS license, or some other failure.
If there is no QAS license installed, the following message will also be shown: FAILURE: 702 QAS does not have any valid licenses available.
CAUSE 2: vastool status defect 232957. A test was added in QAS 4.1.6 version and up to look for an issue but did not take into account workstation mode setting. In workstation mode vasd never does incremental updates for users, so missing this value has no impact.
RESOLUTION 1:
As of Authentication Services 4.1.7.23754 a valid license is required to operate properly.
If the license expires vasd will now generate syslog messages to remind the system owner
To install a license please see
After the license has been installed run the following command as root in order to populate the cache.
# /opt/quest/bin/vastool flush
RESOLUTION 2:
If workstation-mode is set to true in the /etc/opt/quest/vas/vas.conf file, this vastool staus message can be safely ignored. In workstation mode vasd never does incremental updates for users, so missing this value has no impact. vastool status message we will be changing that to INFO instead of a WARNING.
STATUS: Pending fix in a future release.
