System performance is slow and an error message appears in the vasd debug output regarding an unknown group.
Example vasd debug error message where the unknown group name is mygroup:
----------
Mar 8 10:22:48 server1 vasd[143312]: DoRequest: Group Lookup by "mygroup" failed, rc=8, [VAS_ERR_NOT_FOUND: Not found End of LDAP results for filter: "(&(objectCategory=Group)(samaccountname=mygroup))"]
----------
You may also see the following ChildMax error message in the vasd debug output as the system is busy trying to find the unknown group name:
----------
Dispatcher::AdaptiveChildManagement: Not spawning additional process, ChildMax Limit reached
----------
RESOLUTION 1:
Find where the group name has been listed and remove the entry.
Check the limits.conf file for this group entry:
E.g on Linux this is /etc/security/limits.conf
The following command can help find the group name in one of the files under /etc:
# find /etc/ -type f -print0 | xargs -0 grep <group name>
RESOLUTION 2:
If the group name is required, then either add it to the local system (/etc/group) or Active Directory.
