Unable to login to zone after upgrading QAS. When trying to login to sparse zone after upgrading from 3.x to 4.1, receive errors:
login: open_module: /opt/quest/lib/security/pam_vas3.so failed: ld.so.1: login: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/quest/lib/security/pam_vas3.so: symbol pam_vas_cleanup_user_state: referenced symbol not found
ERROR: ld.so.1: sudo: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/lib/nss_vas3.so.1: symbol libvascache_getpwuid: referenced symbol not found Killed
1 - Go to <path to sparse root>/etc/
2 - Modify the nsswitch.conf file and change VAS3 to VAS4
3 - Backup the pam.conf file that is located in the sparse root. <path to sparse root>/etc/pam.conf
4 - Copy the pam.conf from the global to the sparse root and replace the current pam file.
5 - Test login to sparse root.
6- If you need the pam configuration back you would then copy your backup pam.conf back on the sparse root.
7 - Once it is back then unconfigure the pam.conf file in the sparse root and then reconfigure it using the following commands while logged into the sparse zone:
/opt/quest/bin/vastool unconfigure pam
/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure pam
8 - Test login again.
