Where should the vas4 entry go in the nsswitch.conf file?The following command will configure the nsswitch.conf file for use with Authentication services:
/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure nss
Note that this is automatically ran during the domain join.

Resolution
When creating the nsswitch.conf entry, Authentication services will look for the 'files' entry and place the 'vas4' entry directly behind it.
E.g:
passwd: files vas4 sss
If the 'files' entry does not exist then the 'vas4' entry will be placed first.
E.g:
passwd: vas4 compat system
