Description
Within the Management Console for Unix, you receive the following error when trying to profile or add a host to the console. The error received is: "Key Exchange has timed out on host : [ip address]"

Cause
Network latency issue -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:Please have your network staff investigate for any network slowness issues.RESOLUTION 2:You can increase the key exchange timeout for the console in the jvmargs.cfg that is located in different directories depending on the operating system you installed on. We recommend doing a MCU backup before making any changes.1 - On the MCU server, add the following line to the $MCU_PROGRAM_DIR/ jvmargs.cfg file:-DSSH_KEY_EXCHANGE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT_IN_SECS=720-DSSH_CONNECT_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT_IN_SECS=120-DSSH_DEFAULT_HELLO_TIMEOUT_IN_SECS=60-DSUGI_DEFAULT_SESSION_TIMEOUT_IN_MSECS=60000-DSUGI_DEFAULT_PING_TIMEOUT_IN_MSECS=100002 - Restart the "Quest One Management Console for Unix" service3 - Test profiling the host again. -
Additional Information
By increasing your key exchange timeout, you will likely also increase the overall time it could take to establish any connection. If you are seeing this error you are probably having issues with your network not responding in a timely manner and that would be the first place to look into prior to increasing the timeouts.
