WORKAROUND:
Use the vastool command to add the license to Active Directory. NOTE - The account performing the command has to have write permissions to the objects in AD.
There are two considerations depending on your license file.
VERSION 4
For older version 4 licenses which are .txt files this action can be performed from any version 4
A successful command and message is below.
/opt/quest/bin/vastool -u sysadm license add /tmp/000-000-000.txt
Password for sysadm@domain.LAB:
License was successfully added to the QAS Active Directory application configuration.
License was successfully added locally.
VERSION 5
For version 5 license which end in .dlv this can only be done when run on Authentication Services 5.0 and above. This action can be performed on a system that is not yet licensed. On a non production machine install or upgrade to version 5.0.5 Authentications Services or later. If a new install join to your domain. This works while not licensed but users and groups do not work in this state.
/opt/quest/bin/vastool -u sysadm license add /tmp/000-000-000.dlv
Password for sysadm@domain.LAB:
License was successfully added to the SAS Active Directory application configuration.
License was successfully added locally.
STATUS:
