Description
When attempting to install the latest version of QAS software on a Windows server the installer is failing with the message:

Core Components Error: 1722There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.In addition, the following errors were seen in the install log file:Error 0x80070643: Failed to install MSI package.Error 0x80070643: Failed to execute MSI package.Error 0x80070643: Failed to configure per-machine MSI package.Error 0x80070643: Failed to execute MSI package. -
Cause
The issue was found to be cause by a virus scanner blocking the installer from registering new dlls. -
Resolution
SOLUTION
Disable any virus scanners and try the install again.
