Resolution
Yes, ADUC can be installed on Windows Server 2012 with both .NET 3.5 and 4.5 installed. Before running the aducx64.msi ensure that NET 3.5 is enabled on the 2012 Windows server otherwise the install will fail because it will try to install it but it is already there.
To enable it go to control panel and click on "Turn Windows features on or off" under "Programs". Then select "Features" and click on ".NET Framework 3.5 Features"
