When migrating a user to QAS, the old user will still own the home directory which could cause issues when the newly created QAS user logs in. This can happen in a few different scenarios all of which entail having the same home directory as the previous user:
A. A local user is now an Active Directory user.
B. An Open Directory user is now an Active Directory user.
C. An Active Directory user from Apple’s AD plugin is now a QAS AD user.
D. A mobile user from scenario B or C is now a QAS user
This happenswhen the QAS user’s UID differs from the previous user. The user’s primary group ID can make a difference as well, but isn’t as vital as the user’s UID.
WORKAROUND1:
Change the home directory's user and group to the correct information. This could be done in a script or using OAT.
WORKAROUND 2:
Set the user account's uid and gid to the same as it was for the mobile account with in Active Directory or by using the /etc/opt/quest/vas/user-override file.
