vgptool apply fails with: Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) /opt/quest/bin/vgptool -d 6 -g 9 apply

The quickest way to identify is running 'vgptool apply' which fails with:
Trace/breakpoint trap   (core dumped) /opt/quest/bin/vgptool -d 6 -g 9 apply

This issue however could affect anything that's c++, so vastool, vasd, vgptool, uptool, etc.

The vasd dispatcher spawning multiple processes, note the two Auth daemons, there should only be one, is another symptom.

Product defect 437559 - 5.1.2 vgptool segfaults on ppc64le/aarch

At the time of writing, October 30th, 2023, defect 437559 is set as the highest priority to be resolved however at current there isn't an ETA.

There isn't a workaround within the current 5.1.2.8000 version of SAS. ppc64le and aarch systems facing this issue will need to be installed with an older version of SAS. No previous versions have this issue.
