Upgrade from 6.1.x.x to the latest 7.2.1 plugin on AIX 7.2 may produce the following error:
After an upgrade, the /etc/sudo.conf file configuration points to the incorrect architecture plugin.
Method 01:
Make sure the /etc/sudo.conf file is corrected to point to the proper architecture plugin.
Note: The name of the 32-bit version of the 6.1.1.0 plugin is the same as the 64-bit version of the 7.2.1 plugin.
version | 32-bit plugin name* | 64-bit plugin name* |
6.x | qpm4u_plugin.so | qpm4u_plugin64.so |
7.x | qpm4u_plugin32.so | qpm4u_plugin.so |
* the plugin object files are located in the /opt/quest/libexec directory
Method 02:
Unjoin (/opt/quest/sbin/pmjoin_plugin -u) and re-join (/opt/quest/sbin/pmjoin_plugin -a ) the plugin.
With this method, the architecture will be detected, and the appropriate plugins will be selected.
