A user’s session is the period between the user’s logon and logoff times. A user session ends when the user logs off and/or the computer is restarted, similar to a Terminal Server user session. In addition, if the Privilege Manager Client service is restarted the TSE Passcode will need to be reapplied because the TSE passcodes are kept in memory.
If a passcode is required for longer than a user session we suggest using the feature “Instant Elevation”. If enabled, Users can click an “Elevate!” button to launch privileged applications without interruptions. The button is available on the context menu of Windows Explorer objects that require elevated privileges to start-up, including: .bat, .cmd, .exe, .js, .lnk, .msc, .msi, .msp, .pl, .ps1 or .vbs.
