Description
After receiving a new Syslog-ng PE license what is the process to add it to the server? How to get assistance merging license? -
Resolution
The Syslog-ng license needs to be in this directory: /opt/syslog-ng/etc/ and the license needs to be named license.txt
1 - Rename license to license.txt
2 - Move the new license.txt to the directory /opt/syslog-ng/etc/
3 - Restart the syslog-ng service.4 - Run the following to confirm that the new limit is displayed: /opt/syslog-ng/sbin/syslog-ng-ctl show-license-info
(i.e. Limit:1000)

If running Syslog-ng using an account other than "root", please ensure the account running Syslog-ng has permissions to read the license file. Syslog-ng requires read, write, and modify access to the license.txt file.
