Step 1.) Log into the SSB on the web interface using the admin login.
Step 2.) Simultaneously log into the SSB's core-shell on the console.
Note: If using Putty to SSH into the SSB, under the "Category" options on the left-hand side, drop down the "Connection" option, if it is not already expanded, and then click on "SSH". Next, on the right-hand side of the screen at the top there is an option called Remote command:, please enter the following in this box:

Once done, save the session options and continue to SSH into the SSB.
By following the above you will be able to SSH into the boot-shell of the SSB while still being logged into the WebUI.
To further log into the core-shell of the SSB, simply type in the following once the SSH session has been established into the boot-shell:

Step 3.) Run the following command to remove the locked XML file:
rm /opt/ssb/var/lock/xml
Step 4.) On the web interface click the commit button anywhere on one of the options pages.
Once done, the error should cease and the issue will no longer be present.
