Description
The following error and message were seen in the SSB system logs:
1. Error processing syslog-ng statistics; error='Internal locking error - Lock is not acquired; lock='logstats', holder='SYSTEM@xcb''
2. ssb/logstats 740 - [SSB NODEID="ABCDXXXXXX" SYSLOGNG_INSTANCE="core"] PHP Fatal error: OnceAlerter::sendOut(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "MessageRateAlert" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide an autoloader to load the class definition in /opt/ssb/lib/OnceAlerter.php on line 93

Cause
The logstats daemon produced a PHP error which also left the config lock busy. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
1. Delete the files named /opt/ssb/var/persistent_storage/once_alerter*
2. Remove the logstats lock from /opt/ssb/var/lock
Note:
Logstats service should resume to work. If it doesn't, then do another reboot. -

Additional Information
The logstats lock and the message rate alerting feature are interdependent, as the message rate alerting feature works with the data gathered in the logstats jobs.
