Is the "Transfer from another node" option expected to work when migrating an SSB configuration either from an old HW to a new one, or between different virtualization hypervisors? 

The transfer feature back end is an rsync command over SSH that transfers data and config. Therefore, the hypervisor or HW being used should not matter. 

Notes: 

• The target must be the same or a higher version. Downgrades are not permitted.
• The target must be 6.10.0 or above, as the feature was introduced in this version.
• The oldest version that can be used as a source is 6.0.0.
• In the case of a major version change, for example, version 6 to 7, the target must be an LTS version. Therefore, a 6.x.x version should not be transferred to 7.1.0 (FR version) directly.
• In the case of High Availability (HA), after the transfer, the node will be a standalone one. However, it can be converted to a cluster(HA) after another node is joined. 
• The first mounting of NFS/SMB archive shares occurs at the time of the first archive job run post-transfer.
